Tungsten, molybdenum and their alloys play an important role in the welding industry, mainly due to their high melting points, excellent high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, as well as good electrical and thermal conductivity.


  • Electrode materials for tungsten inert gas welding: Lanthanum-tungsten 10 and Lanthanum-tungsten 20, which have good high-temperature resistance and long service life, are suitable for high-load welding.

  • Welding electrode materials for plasma arc welding: Tungsten-rhenium alloy (W-Re) or lanthanum-tungsten electrodes, which can resist high-temperature ion bombardment.

  • Molybdenum electrodes are also used in electron beam welding and resistance welding electrodes, and molybdenum plates are applied in high-temperature brazing of vacuum furnace welding trays.
